The Rising Sun Regional Foundation, Rising Sun, Indiana, commissioned Techedvise in October 2007 to assist in the development of a technology focused initiative for the educational entities throughout the grant-making area served by the Foundation. The initiative took the shape of advancing technology in the classroom by increasing the engagement of teacher and student through various technological platforms.

Classroom technology has evolved and grown exponentially in the curriculum with students pushing the envelope for more sources and interactivity. The growth has led to the simple yet precise moniker for this initiative “Project Excel,” which exemplifies the very nature of the ultimate educational goal of the Foundation. That is, to provide a portion of grant funds for the learning environment to increase student engagement for lifelong learning and ultimately increase student achievement.
